북 소식통, “장성택은 이미 조선에 없다”

북한이 김정은의 고모부이며 2인자이던 장성택의 실각을 전격 공개한 것과 관련해 장 씨의 재기가능성 주장도 나오고 있지만 이미 장성택은 북한에 존재하지 않는다는 소식이 전해졌다. 9일 평양소식통은 자유북한방송과의 전화통화에서 “중앙당 간부가 전해준데 의하면 장성택과 그의 측근들은 이미 지난 5일에 처형되었다”며 “정치국 회의에서 결정이 돼 룡성구역에 위치한 호위사령부 부대안에서 군 장성들과 인민보안부, 노동당 간부들까지 모두 7명에 대한 사형이 집행되었다”고 전했다. 그러면서 “지금 평양은 물론 전국에 ‘장성택이 권력을 가지고 모은 돈은 조선 안에 또 다른 조선을 만들 수 있는 액수였다. 올해 9월 중국과 협력해 장군님을 제거하고 통일조선 임시정부를 세우려고 했다’는 소문이 나돌고 있다”며 “유일지도체계를 세우기 위해 앞으로 수년동안 장성택 측근 숙청이 이어질 것으로 보인다”고 전했다. 소식통이 전한데 의하면 이달 초 김정은은 “나는 선대수령들과 달리 그가 누구든 조국과 수령을 배반한 자들에 대해서는 추호도 용서할 생각이 없다. 당사자(장성택)는 물론 관계자들까지 모조리 공화국의 법을 적용해 처형하라”는 지시를 내렸다. 김일성에게 도전했다는 죄명으로 오랜 기간 정치범수용소에 갇혀있던 전 민족보위상(인민무력부장)김창봉과, 김정일 시대에 혁명화로 내려 보냈던 수많은 노동당 간부들과 달리 김정은은 ‘배신자’에게 ‘용서와 기회’가 아니라 처형을 선택했다는 것이 소식통의 설명이다. 소식통은 “아마도 공화국 창건이후 가장 큰 숙청이 될 것 같다”며 “12월 초부터 노동당과 군은 물론 국가체육지도위원회, 국가우주개발국, 원자력공업성, 국가경제개발위원회, 인민보안부, 국가안전보위부, 노동당산하 외화벌이 단위들까지 장성택이 조금이라도 관여했던 기관들에 대한 조사와 숙청이 이루어지고 있다”고 전했다. 소식통은 “지도자의 가계인 장성택 숙청에 대해 고민해볼 줄 알았는데 단호하게 처형하자 지금 중앙당은 물론 전국이 뒤숭숭하다”며 “아마도 지난 90년대 후반에 있었던 서관희(농업담당비서)사건(심화조사건)보다 몇 배가 되는 인원이 숙청될 것 같다”고 전했다. ‘심화조 사건’은 1997년 8월 전 ‘조선노동당 농업담당비서’ 서관희가 6.25전쟁 당시 포섭된 ‘미국간첩’으로서 노동당의 농업방침을 방해 했다는 혐의를 받고 공개 처형되고, 2만5천명의 인사와 가족들을 숙청한 김정일의 권력공고화 과정에 빚어진 대규모 처형사건이다. 이어 “현재 호위사령부에서 중요 직책을 맡고 있는 그(김정은)의 외삼촌(고영희의 남동생)인 고수일이 숙청을 책임지고 진행중이다”며 “이 기회에 재일동포 자녀인 고 가의 호위국 진입에 대해 불만을 터놓았던 군 원로들까지 보복당할 것으로 보인다”고 덧 붙였다. 그러면서 “장성택의 처형으로 주민들 속에서는 ‘다음 순서는 최룡해가 될 것이다’는 말이 나돌고 있다”며 “정권장악을 위한 공포정치가 오히려 위상을 떨어뜨리고 인민들의 원성만 키우는 꼴이 되었다”고 전했다. 신남호 기자
